Thinking of trying Dysport®, but not exactly sure what it can do for you? Put simply, Dysport® is an injection that is used to improve the look of frown lines and wrinkles. This treatment will temporarily improve moderate to severe wrinkles, but will not change the overall look of your face.
Dysport® works because it blocks the signal from the nerves to the muscles, resulting in relaxation of the muscles. This will temporarily prevent any frown-line causing contractions in your face, so you can enjoy a younger, smoother look.
Each treatment takes about 15 to 30 minutes and will last up to four months.
What Areas Are Treated With Dysport?
Dysport is a treatment that specializes in treating the area between the eyebrows. Called “frown lines”, the area between the eyebrows are a breeding ground for wrinkles because of the many facial contraction and movements you make with your eyebrows, including frowning. Dysport aims to reduce and remove wrinkles and fine lines between the eyebrows and above the nose.
How Long Does it Take Dysport to Work?
After a Dysport injection, you should expect to see noticeable results in just 2 to 3 days. There is no downtime following the procedure and you get to see amazing results fast! The beauty of Dysport injections is that effects will only be felt between your eyebrows, and no other area of your face will be left feeling stiff and frozen.
How Long Does Dysport Last?
With just one 10 to 20 minute treatment featuring injections of Dysport, you can see a drastic change in the appearance of wrinkles between your eyebrows for up to 4 months. For best results, we suggest repeated treatments to keep your frown lines on permanent vacation and keep your face looking youthful and beautiful.

Side Effects Of Dysport®
Although it is uncommon, Dysport® (abobotulinumtoxinA) can cause serious side effects, including:
- Problems breathing
- Trouble swallowing
- Spread of the toxin away from areas apart from the injection site (botulism)
Botulism symptoms include: muscle weakness, double vision, trouble speaking, loss of bladder control, drooping eyelids and/or loss of voice. If you experience any of these symptoms, you should contact your doctor at once.
Typically, these problems will happen within hours, but it may take days to weeks after an injection of Dysport® before they appear.
Do not use Dysport® if you are allergic to Dysport® or the ingredients in Dysport®, or if you are allergic to cow’s milk protein. Additionally, do not use this treatment if you have had an allergic reaction to any other botulinum toxin product; or if you currently have a skin infection at the site where you plan to have the injection.
Let your doctor know if you have had any injectables in the past four months, especially any botulinum toxin injections, or if you receive any type of antibiotic by injection or if you regularly take a muscle relaxer, sleep medication, allergy or cold medicine.
